General Education Requirements for Degree Students
In addition to the 30 credits of required courses in the early childhood education major, students admitted to the Distance ECE Associate of Applied Science program must complete 15 credits in General Education Requirements (GER), as well as 15 credits of approved electives.
For greatest success in the Distance ECE/AAS degree program, ECE Academic Advisors may direct admitted students to enroll in GER courses early in their course of study. It is highly recommended that you complete your English requirements (based on your Placement Test) to adequately prepare for college level writing.
To assist with critical thinking skills necessary to complete your college level work, your advisor may recommend a preparatory course. Theses are designed to accelerate students’ mastery of material presented in the degree program.
The following links to current distance GER course schedules are provided for convenience. However, it is critical that admitted students confer with their ECE Academic Advisor before registering for GER courses. GER requirements for degree students are entirely dependent upon which campus will award the AAS degree and are not the same for all students statewide. Contact your ECE Academic Advisor for further information about GER courses.
Admitted Distance ECE/AAS students register for GER courses through your ECE Academic Advisor, not on the web. The following are provided as reference, not intended for registration.
