ECE Major Courses
If you are admitted to the Distance Early Childhood Education (ECE) Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree, you must complete 36 credits in the early childhood education major, 15 credits of General Education Requirements (GERs), and 9 credits of electives to obtain the degree. The total number of credits you must earn to graduate is 60.
- Major courses are in the field of study in which you will obtain a degree.
- GERs are the required courses in English, mathematics, speech and humanities.
- Electives are the courses you take that expand and enhance your knowledge in the field you are studying, and must be approved for credit by your ECE/AAS Academic Advisor.
A current Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) certificate will transfer into the University for 6 course credits towards your ECE/AAS degree. Your ECE Academic Advisor applies these credits in your degree plan.
