Meet your Personal Trainer

Frances Polumsky

  • American Council on Exercise Certified personal trainer with over 20 years of experience
  • B.S in physical education from Boise State University
  • Instructed Physical Education at Juneau Douglas High School and currently for University of Alaska Southeast
  • Certified Instructor for: Group Cycling (Spinning), Body Pump, Group Exercise, Strong Women, and Zumba.

Three primary reasons to have a personal trainer are education, direction and motivation.

  • Single Session: $45
  • Package #1 (3 sessions)
    $40 per session = $120 total
  • Package #2 (6 sessions)
    $38 per session = $228 total
  • Package #3 (12 sessions)
    $36 per session = $432 total

UAS Zumba Club
Zumba Club w/Ana Christine
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 7:30pm-8:30pm, Starts 1/22/19

Experience a full body workout to heart-pounding music that will have you moving. A great way to begin and end your week! This club activity is for everyone, no experience necessary.

Level: All levels are welcome
Credit: Non-Credit
Muscle Groups: Full body workout every class
Sign-up/Cost: This is a campus club event, free to REC Center members and their guests with $5 guest fee.

Whether you need the structure that a class provides to insure you stay active, want to learn a technical skill in an ODS course, or just interested in learning something new, the REC Center welcomes all students. The course is an investigation of fitness and health: Body structure and functions, emotional and social health, environmental impact on health, sound nutrition, prevention and treatment of childhood illness and common health problems, and media influences.

Emphasizes flow sequences, long-held postures, core work and breath control. It is a rigorous class meant to balance muscle strengthening and flexibility. Students will gain greater endurance, and the ability to build and use abdominal muscles for power in this class. Reflection activities will emphasize the application of yoga philosophy and principles to everyday life.
